@serenitysquirrel This is one that is on my list, I've learnt a couple of tricks and also know of a good place to get some fonts. I am wanting to explore making your own fonts too, but usually you need special programs, so I'm going to check that out eventually!!
Thank you for your feedback! It's great knowing there are people out there who would want to use it!
@justjezz Oh blimey, yes! That would be a lengthy tutorial, but I will give it a shot at some point soon! That is basically how I do the backgrounds for my current comic, though those have a bit more detail in them. A lot of it is playing around with certain filters and such, I shall add it onto the list, but will probably cover it in several tutorials! smile Thanks for the feedback!
@AkaOkami this is a very valid point! I often come across people who are confused a little by this, I completely take it for granted knowing this sort of thing as I work in print and it kinda comes naturally to me now. I shall certainly add it to the list, after all, it IS a very important aspect for anyone wanting to do a webcomic, as well as print it later to sell in conventions Thank YOU for your feedback!!
@fanyart Hi Fany!! That's great! There are certainly plenty of tutorials that are needing to be made, I have already done colouring tutorials, and was planning on a cell-shaded one considering that is primarily what my comic is. Someone has asked if I can give advice on bubbles and such, I also want to make one on photoshop brushes too.
The thing is, I don't think we will really clash too much, if people can see two different tutorials by two different artists, tackling the same subject in their own found ways, it will show people how we all work. It would be great to show that there is no right or wrong way. They might prefer yours to mine or visa versa, and hopefully encourage them to develop their own techniques over time what do you think?
The ones currently on my list are:
- Tutorials on backgrounds - perspective, lighting, colour,
finalisation
- Light and shadow, different techniques (ie digital painting, cell shading, soft shading)
- Font and speech bubbles - where to find font and how to use them (install, apply, draw bubbles)
- New file set-up, DPI, page size, colour settings etc
- Characters - how to draw eyes, poses, hands, body types, line of action etc
- How light reacts to certain objects
- Drawing effects (fire, water, electricity etc)
So there is still plenty of things on your list that I've not considered or would suit me the more tutorials the better, it's not about treading on each others toes, it's about helping people <3
