I go with the Trey Parker and Matt Stone outlook on comedy: It's either all funny or none of it is.
I love jokes about everything: word play, clever social commentary, offensive jokes, crude humor, dark comedy, baby jokes, yo momma jokes, satire, parody, dry humor, puns, vaudeville, slapstick. The only type of comedy I don't like are most fart jokes, vomiting jokes, urination jokes, and deification jokes (so basically human excrement is where I draw the line). I have laughed at fart jokes in the past but it was based on TIMING and these were short bursts of gas nothing drawn out. I think when a joke is drawn out or beat to death it loses it's impact.
All form of comedy is based on somone's misery. So if you have a happy-go-lucky person who isn't phased by the comedy that's being thrown at them, this can also lose the impact of the joke too. It can be funny if it's correctly pulled off and depending on the level of comedy you're going with. (like if everyone else in the fictional world is in misery but the MC is unphased by all the comedy tactics, this can be really funny).
