Since its a silent comic, and since your storytelling ability in that regard is done really really well, I'll just critique the art a bit.
It did seem like you were in the process of figuring stuff out so I noticed an improvement in your art as it progressed. But honestly, it was mostly spectacular too haha. There were a few awkward spots that I'll show you, but overall your color design was pretty good throughout.
So one thing I found slightly problematic was that occasionally Mary Anne's facial features didn't have enough contrast with her skin like this:
Here was something I liked much better:
There was another issue with color contrast where elements would kind of blend into background:
Always seems to be his legs haha.
Overall, I would say aiming for a minimalist style is a great way to start learning color theory. I'd check out tons of tutorials on theory and color design. One thing I might also suggest is to try 3 colors instead of just 2. You can have two main ones and then use the third as a kind of bridge or accent. I guess that will all come with experimentation. Color is tricky, I'm still learning tons myself, but you're definitely on the right track.
Another small issue I had is that I felt there were odd panels where her face looked much older than she was (before the time skip). I think the issue was the face shape. There were times when her jaw line seemed a bit too strong for a child. Kids faces should be a bit rounder.
Final thoughts:
I loved the scene where she walks through him, it was very atmospheric. However, I did feel like the last panel on page 24 was a bit dull. It might have carried a bit more emotional weight with some detail in the background like some of the other panels on that page.
Bonus:
I checked out your newer comic briefly, and I would just recommend you take a look at some typesetting tutorials. Its really important and often neglected (that's my own guilty conscience speaking).
My comic is Knights and I think this is the first review I've ever asked for haha
I will just mention one thing, it's my first comic and in a large part a deliberate learning experience. There are significant changes (improvements I hope) with each update. It may be more relevant to critique the later chapters, just to have a better idea where I'm at now. I'm not really planning on redoing the older ones, I wanted them to stand as a reminder to myself of how much I've grown =D
