If you check around the forums you'll be able to find plenty of forum posts which have debated it. (Maybe someone will be kind enough to link a good thread about it here… being on mobile it's a little bit hard for me to do it, sorry.)
Essentially, here are some key points to know about posting:
-It is best to avoid quickly posting multiple episodes in close proximity of one another (IG 3 seperate EPISODES in one day)
-posting very long episodes can cause reader burn for some people
-on the other hand if you're posting only one page at a time it makes for a less smooth reading experience which may impact the way your story is enjoyed
-the more frequent you update, the more often your comic ends up in the fresh section
- single pages may generate more reader discussion
There is the option to combine multiple episodes into one if you want to make a smoother-reading backlog, however many creators are against this because it means losing the comments on episodes that get combined with a previous one.
There is also the option to add pages to existing episodes as a way of updates, but because of the lacking notification system, and having to scroll through the previous pages every time to reach the new one, it's not a preferred method.
I am a strong advocate for multiple page postings, personally, because as a reader immersion is of the upmost importance to me. With single pages the flow tends to be severely comprised. Posting in chapters may be a bit long depending on how long your chapters run, but I think posting segments in scenes is a good way to do it. (A comic called Witchy does it excellently.) I feel many creators spend so much time crafting wonderful stories with beautiful artwork but then reduce the impact of their work by posting it in on a page to page basis which kills the story's flow.
However many people will argue for page by page posting as well.
