Here to give you a cool history fact and a fact from my comic!
Despite the notorious brutality of the Mongol Khans, their empire was among one of the most religiously tolerant in history. This is due in large part to the core beliefs of the Mongols, belief in a Sky God "Tengri", being tied to the land from which they originated. Therefore they did not expect their subjects to follow their religion. Which was very useful when it came to ruling peoples that included Muslims, Orthodox Christians, Confucians, etc.
Fact from my comic, Light and Dark
The art style, theme, and focus of my comic has had many different influences. The city and main setting, New Hadden, takes influences from my hometown Chicago with a bit of Venice and Constantinople. The art style and potential soundtrack draws from the neon/retro 80s resurgence ie things like Hotline Miami with a slight influence from Brian Lee O'Maley when it comes to the style of the characters. Finally, the powers and characters, I used to be influenced a lot by X-Men but as of late Jojo's Bizzare Adventure has been influencing me to come up with crazier and more bizzare characters and powers. I've always been fascinated with worlds and stories that have a bit of fantastical surrealism. In that there are many strange and crazy occurrences in the fiction that seem weird to us but are very common, mundane even, to the inhabitants of that world.
See you guys next Friday with more facts!
