I'm definitely both.
I love art. I can lose hours to drawing - I almost go into a kind of trance when I'm working, and it's lovely. I'm rarely happier than when I get to put pencil to paper - or paintbrush to canvas, or cintiq pen to screen - and just draw. I'm a very visual person, to the point where I can't write a script separately from drawing the page-layouts. I need to do both at once, so I can see how the story turns out.
But I'm also a lifelong storyteller. I don't know if it's because my grandma used to be a librarian and my biggest dream as a kid was to be left overnight in the library so I could read all the books, but I've always told stories. I still do. I talk to myself constantly when I'm alone, telling stories out loud. I tell myself stories after I've turned out the lights at night to help myself go to sleep. I'm obsessed with storytelling in all of its forms.
Comics are the perfect way for me to combine the two. I've tried writing prose, and I do a whole bunch of illustrations and standalone images, but comics is where I feel most at home. <3
