@dglisson I'm reviving a dead topic! WO. (instead of starting a new one)
I've been feeling very lonely as a parent-artist. My son is 1.5 yr old. I'm the mom, I work full time, and I'm the default parent. I get my son up in the morning, dressed, pack his bag for daycare, pick him up, make him dinner, play with him, bath him, take him to doctor appointments, find the babysitter when I want to go out... etc.
The time I have to draw is for about an hour after the kiddo goes to bed. The rest of the night is spent doing laundry, chores, shower, whatever. So that comes out to maybe 5 hours a week. Cut shorter if my husband wants to go on a date on Sat/Fri. I sometimes can draw on Saturdays if my son is content playing by himself. But honestly, being a parent makes me tired. I'm just exhausted and have no mental energy to put stylus to tablet.
Moral of the story, is I feel a huge struggle. Before the kiddo, I had 10-12 hours a week I could devote to making comics. Now its half that. I've had months to figure out a balance, but I just don't have it figured yet.
So if you have any ideas, I'm all ears. haha
