VERY LATE TO THE PARTY, but I love sharing ideas amongst other people! I don't get to do it a lot in my daily life ahaaa ovo"
But I have this character who was at first supposed to be a secondary character. The real star was a princess named Dawn who had to go out on this journey to save her kingdom from a greedy king with evil, yet privately meaning, intentions (I know this sounds basic, but I swear it sounds a little more complex than this). Anywho, with her guard and her lute playing charmer, she was supposed to come across a boy named Deruuk, a deaf boy who was left orphaned after a house raid killed his father, who was a respected swordsmith and retired knight to Dawn's father's army. Deruuk was by far my favorite character- he was inspired by a quick encounter I had with a deaf man, who was selling bracelets at my local McDonald's to raise enough money to support his family. It made me realize that there really are so many diverse people in my community, and thus I wanted to represent that as I created Deruuk's personality and backstory. Fast forward to a few months later, and I've decided to make Deruuk the main character, just because I found it more interesting to have a protagonist who had very obvious struggles and communicated in a language we rarely see portrayed. I'm hoping to get his, as well as the other characters', stories out sometime end of this year/beginning of next year.
Sorry for the word vomit- I'm very passionate about the characters I create and Deruuk is the one OC who I've put so much thought and effort into!
