@WakaXO Lol my first comics were Naruto knockoffs too
I've probably been drawing since the womb, can't really remember when I started. I loved cartoons, Digimon, yugioh, Dragon Ball (Z and GT too [seriosuly why do people hate that series?]), and tons of others. My first exposure to comics - manga really - was in middle school.
Haha oh man. So some kid brought a volume of Dragon Ball and there was an uncensored panel of Bulma getting her shirt pulled down. (Goku or someone was fighting someone invisible, so Krillin gave Master Roshi a nosebleed to cover them in blood) Everyone was trying to grab a look because ohmehgerdbewbiez. So I remember that vividly haha.
Anyway, it may have been the same kid, but someone brought a monthly shonen jump a while later. Thats when I read Naruto for the first time. I had to have it too so I subscribed and had like 2 or 3 years worth of those by the end of it. Shonen Jump was amazing - I remember getting into One Piece, Naruto, from that. I even remember a lot of one-shots that went on to become series like Rosario Vampire and D.Gray Man. It was a shame but when I stopped subscribing my mom threw them all way ;_;
At some point I must have learned about scanlations sites so I would read online a lot in high school. Back then the manga boom was not as big as it is now. I remember being amazed seeing a whole aisle in Barnes and Noble just dedicated to manga for the first time.
In high school I still drew quite a bit but got more into music. A year or two ago I learned about online publishing platforms like Line and this one and rekindled the thought of making a comic like I had always thought of doing in middle school.
