I call the world Lax Legends is set in Tehrraz, and a lot of the deeper worldbuilding lore would be spoilers for later plot twists -_- but the stuff that's established up front? It's a quasi-modern setting that plays with the concept that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic; their world is old, there's been a FEW "apocalypses" in history that knocked the world back to year one, so the planet is littered with technology that still works, or can be bashed into effectiveness, but that people dont actually fully understand. Thus, magetech or arcaneotech is generally classified as "magic." Firearms were called "deathspitter spells" only ten years ago, salvaged nukes are called "warender bottles" ("be discerning in its use, as the resulting enchantment soaks deep into the land for generations") etc.
The main city the characters are in is basically a big sticky love note to my home in NYC, a city the size of Alaska mostly built on landfills and the ruins of itself. A polluted, diverse hotbed of activity whose only natural resource is people.
