WOAH! waking up to 14 replies on the thread is amazing!
1st of all, thank you all for your insightful inputs, I feel like there might be a hope for this new series.
Now, for those of you who said story is important, how can you decide whether it is or it is not when you just started reading the comic? does it mean that a summary is required at the start to at least give you a gist of what the story is going to be about? or you need to read a couple pages/chapters first before deciding to go ahead and keep reading?
I never thought that character-driven story can be a thing, please mind my ignorance because I'm not smart enough to differentiate what causes the story progression. BUT! this information really makes me happy, cause I think that this idea of mine is going in that direction (the irony, right?) and I've been afraid how can I make it possible, because I think I might have interesting ideas on the characters, their backgrounds, and how they interact with each other and progresses the story. SO EXCITED NOW!!!! XD
Also please note, I might like graphics/art style, but my drawings are not at the level that I want yet.. XD
Now time to reply to individual posts.. cause that's how I roll >:3
@insomniascrawl
Totally agree there. I guess story will still always be important and I have to try and put a whole lot more points to it from now on. Thanks for the input! <3
@gateofselidor
Foundation. Yes. That is the word!! I always believe everything has to have a good foundation, but when it comes to needing to create it, I totally forgot about the word itself ¬_¬"
In terms of art style, I'm not sure if it'll be the style I can reproduce fast enough, and that is 1 of the scary parts too.. I just thought that since this new series is gonna be the more "serious" type comparing to my current 1, I have to put in more effort to make it more "serious" looking, but since I'm not anywhere being a pro, it'll take me quite a while to reproduce it. What do you think is a decent rate though?
Thanks for the input! <3
@punkarsenic
hahaha chicken or egg.. that's a very good example, and I totally agree with that! and I do like the idea of having a vague start and gets stronger with time, rather than having a strong start and deteriorate as it progresses.
Though I have to say, my art/graphic is not exactly top notch, but hopefully it'll suffice for me to keep the reader engage for now, and will work hard to improve it
Thanks for the input! <3
@mjmassey
I like how you put it, story as foundation and entices people, characters to make sure people stay, and art to keep people interested XD
I'll keep that in mind!
Thanks for the input! <3
@abbastudios
Got it! :3
Thanks for the input! <3
@joannekwan
I suppose that is why I'm hooked by your Demon House, because of this list I see.. I will keep that in mind! XD
Thanks for the input! <3
@Aloredd
I totally agree with the balance, and I do hope I can find a good balance with this and will also to make sure I have a decent graphic/art to make sure people not distracted by it. Your insight definitely helps a lot!
Thanks for the input! <3
P.S. Thank you for the subscribe! Glad you like the art style on that series hehehe.. though I have to say, the new series will be totally different style, since I want to make it a more "serious" series and the current series will stay, so I can interchange between both styles if I'm bored hahahaha XD again thank you for the sub! <3
