Well, I myself prefer quality, but it goes more in the story and panelling than in colors, mostly since I like manga.
But seriously, do not be fooled, black and white is not easier. Cell shading is a easier way to paint, you can try that.
But I work in a black&white, manga style webcomic. It takes hours to paint everything with tones, and it is REALLY hard to decided how I should tone the clothes and the background without it looking all the same. I've been working with 4 different tones, btw.
Oh, and that's a tip, it is even harder to work if you have more tones to use on B&W stuff, in the beggining I had a huge tones folder, and it was hard to decide which ones to use, so they would look the right grey, but would also match the other tones patterns.
You can try a lot of ways to make things faster. I use Clip Studio Paint (the downloadable version of Manga Studio) to make the backgrounds, it helps A LOT, it is awesome. I use paint buckets in Fire Alpaca, because they have the best filling. And Lineart I am not usually the one to take care of it, but when I do, and also my inker, we use Clip Studio Paint, it is marvelous, you can crack the Manga Studio, or buy Clip Studio, it is really cheap, specially on sale, I paid 15USD for the Pro version.
Also, you can find ways to simplify your the base sketches, Sycra got a video where he teaches the way he makes the draft for their character drawings, it is pretty simple and fast, and helps a lot. Sorry for not linking the specific video, tho.
I think it is better to have a work that is not the most beautiful done, than something amazing that you are never going to end/or show to anybody.
And with practice you are going to get better at this, and you are going to make comics way faster and better as soon as you start making them xD
