Hello, I'm new to Tapastic and I'm uncertain about starting a webcomic here... Not because the community is scary, but because I'm not very good at drawing comics/dynamic poses. You guys seem very friendly from what I saw in one week of lurking around b4 making an account! However, it feels like every comic on here is made by very talented or professionnal artists who dedicate all their time to their project. That's not like me, unfortunately. I've only been drawing seriously for 3 years now and I'm 16 year old, so I got a lot improvement to make before having a consistant style and becoming efficient with drawing stuff that looks moderatly good. I also have school, which is very demanding and makes me unmotivated to draw sometimes. I also draw alot of different things and tend to procrastinate (uh oh, there, I told my sin), which wouldn't be good for a webcomic. Thankfully, it's summer vacations until september so I have plenty of time to draw now.
What really makes me want to post on Tapastic over other websites is how clean and simple everything looks, and of course the community. I have a story I want to work on and I have most of the plot in mind. The problem comes with the art. I just think my art is very stiff compared to other people's, which makes it difficult to draw movement or expressions, even tho I WANT to improve in those fields. The second problem is that I cannot tell precisely how often I can update my webcomic, for reasons stated above.
Bottom line, I do not aim to be a professional artist, I just want to do this for fun and practice, to entertain people even if it's a few minutes. That's why I'm asking you guys; Is it okay to post a webcomic on Tapastic solely for fun and practice purposes, as it serves as a good platform to post webcomics? I'm worried people will dislike me for that.
Btw if you really want to see what my art looks like on a daily basis, check out my PaigeeWorld gallery (warning: there's alot of doodles & randomness)
I'll go hide now//
