What I do is honestly just,
try to draw in that style!
Like, I might start out trying to draw the other person's characters in their style. I might try to translate my characters into that style, like, what would they look like if that person drew them? And then, once I've kinda got the hang of it, I keep going, but I'll probably stop referencing the other person's work at this point -- just fiddling around with drawing my characters with these new stylisations, getting comfortable with them.... and as I get comfortable, I'll naturally start to add the way I like to draw things into it.
(if an example is helpful, here's Me trying to draw a bunch of D&D characters with the stylisation of Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name, here's Me clearly ripping off HiNaBN some more with my characters, and Continuing to obviously be HiNaBN inspired, then many sketches later keeping some of that stylisation but now it looks more like my stuff.)
Often, though, I don't want the entire package of the way another person draws... I'll just steal bits and pieces. If I really like how someone else draws teeth, I'll try drawing teeth that way, and do it a few more times to see if I can get the hang of it, and if it's working for me, I'll just keep it, and start drawing teeth that way. That's it. That's all there is to it.
Like, everything you draw doesn't have to go straight into your Official Work, so it's okay to totally copy something to learn how they're doing it -- you wouldn't want your actual projects to look like you're attempting to mimic someone else, but you can do that while you're practising and sketching on the side. imo, the TRICK is just to draw these things over and over, because the more you draw it, the more comfortable you get with it, and the more comfortable you get, the more you start to naturally make it your own, because you'll make it fit with the way that you like to draw things!
