To share my experience, I started with weekly updates on my comic Oops. Every Friday, once a week, for about 7 months. And being consistent ontop of constantly self-promoting and letting people know what I do, I gained a very slow readership.
In October, I decide to try something new and changed to updating 3 times a week, every Mon, Wed, Friday for about a month and a half. That gave amazing results. I received more activity (likes/comments/shares/subscribers) during that time than ever before.
In mid November, I had to knock it down to twice a week, and come mid Jan I'll have to go back to once a week to maintain my buffer. However, the moral to my experience is the more active I was posting to my series the more activity I saw with it. I think 2-3 times a week is a great upload rate, and I hope with my future issues that I can build that up again.
