I was re-reading the first drafts of my ongoing series Icebreaker, and realized my story changed a lot from the original 2014 idea.
For Example, I have three main characters now instead of two. I added some new characters, but scrapped a lot too. Reading though the old script I came across names I couldn't even remember! I had rivals and ex-boy/girlfriends and other stuff my story doesn't need.
Also I first called my story Cold hearted, but I found that Icebreaker would fit the story more. Since the characters are pretty kind, they had an awkward first meeting, they will break more than just ice (winks at last episode) and icebreaker just sounds better.
Idk, but in case you wanted to read my story there's mild [spoilers] below:
My story used to be from the point of view of a fragile male solo figure skater dreaming of being a pair skater. He'd meet a hockey player that he'd secretly pair up with in his free time. There was no ending and they both had no reason to pair up actually.
But I liked the idea of two guys skating together, so in my re-visioned version it's written from the hockey player's POV. I added more reasons for them to pair up, one of them was adding a new character, Leesa, the skating partner of the fragile figure skater. She's my favorite character now haha. I also did a lot of research on skating and everything, and changed things that'd be considered too unrealistic.
[end of spoilers]
Did your story change a lot too, or are you trying to stay true to your original idea?
Examples of things that changed? (I'm okay with spoilers, but you can tag it to be safe )
