I highly recommend "THE BABADOOK". It's a new movie, 2014 I think? And it's on Netflix. I LOVED it. It's a psychological/supernatural horror. It brings a new monster to the table, and leaves you to ponder on the lore, the ending, and dives into the psyche of a single mother trying to raise her kid. It was bold in a lot of its approaches, I found the actors convincing, sets were very well constructed, and sound effects were terrifying. In the beginning of the movie I hated the kid, and was rooting for the mom, then by the end my opinion was switched. It doesn't end like other mainstream horrors, and a lot of people didn't like it, but if you pay attention to the lore of the Babadook, it makes sense.
