I've been making my comics digitally for almost 5 years now. At the time I was working on a much more art-intensive super-heroish book, and in order to make my deadlines, I simply had to ditch scanning (and at that time, before I got a bigger scanner stitching the art together), and cleaning up my artwork for the speed of having finished "inks" right away with digital. I just threw myself into it. Not to mention the time involved with upkeep on brushes and what not (cleaning, etc). The first - quite a few- pages that I did digitally were awkward and rough, but eventually it became the same as drawing by hand to me, and I haven't really looked back.
Okay that last bit is a lie. I LOVE LOVE LOVE drawing and inking traditionally. I do it for fun all the time. But it never seems to fit with my workflow for my comics and/or professional illustration work. So, I buy tons of brushes and ink (and bristol!) all the time that I rarely use. My wife thinks I'm crazy. She's probably right.
